Out with the Al Frescoes this morning - painting at Swan Lake Victoria. Struggled to find a spot or subject rather. I liked the contrast of the dark in the foreground with the sky light sneaking through and reflecting from lake. At one point I nearly gave up as it was not looking like much. There is a lot of information in that spot. I focused on the trees and the foreground, then the sky and sides. I'm not that happy with it - what I do like is that it captures the random barrage of twisting shapes and light. Today I added Venetian red and Naples yellow to my palette. The red and ultramarine blue with white made for a wonderful mauve. It doesn't come across in the image, but I used it in the sky and the trees. I look forward to the Friday outings.
